Alibit

About

Alibit is made by one person in Svenljunga — not by a games company, not by a studio team, and not by anyone who wants to sell you advertising.

Why

I wanted to play a murder mystery where it is your head that solves the case, not your reflexes. Most detective games are either a puzzle with a single solution, or a shooter with a murder investigation as the backdrop. Alibit is a conversation instead: the material is there, the reasoning is yours, and when you name a killer you can be wrong for reasons that are logical — which is the whole point.

It should be easy to play together, preferably at a distance, and without installing anything first. That is why Alibit is a website.

How the cases are made

Every case starts with an event and a solution: who did it, why, and which piece of evidence settles it. Then the interviews and the material are written so that the evidence really does point there — and nowhere else. Before a case is published it is checked that the solution holds and that the facts add up.

The cases are invented. People, places and events are fiction, and any resemblance to real people or events is unintended.

In the interest of honesty: the scene images and portraits are generated with image models, and the text was written with the help of AI tools that I then worked through by hand — the solution, the logic and the review are mine. If you hit a case where something does not add up, I want to hear about it: get in touch.

What Alibit is not

  • No ads, no advertising tracking and no selling of data.
  • No gambling, no lotteries, no purchases inside the cases.
  • No daily rewards or countdowns designed to keep you there too long.
  • No subscription that is hard to get rid of — you cancel it yourself in one click.

Who you are dealing with

Alibit is run by Alex Weström, Svenljunga. The business is run by a private individual, not a company. You can reach me at [email protected].

The purchase terms and your right to cancel are in the terms, and what is stored about you is in the privacy policy.
